It is that time of year when seniors in high school begin accepting their offers from colleges, searching for roommates, and designing their dream dorm! Just last year I was doing the same thing and it was so exciting! I spent hours online looking at Facebook and Instagram for THE PERFECT roommate and I spent event more time designing and planning my future dream dorm. Funny enough despite finding an awesome potential roommate, when room assignments came out, I was not paired with her. Instead I was paired with a random roommate. Daunting at first but I wouldn't change a thing. I am so lucky to have been paired with my freshman year roommate and it turns out we have way more in common than I originally thought! Today we are in the same sorority and next year she is even living in the apartment building less than 100 feet from mine! This story is not to make you scared of not getting paired with your requested roommate but to show you that it is OKAY. Things will work out, and if they don't you can always change rooms throughout the year! After the thanksgiving break, lots of dorms open up as people drop out, so gif you don't get put with someone you like, look into switching, the school's housing loves to help! Before you begin shopping take a look at this list that I put together of everything that I found useful in my dorm or wish I knew to bring right away: Here is some of the before and after pictures of my dorm:
